Al Intiqad Exclusive- By Ali Oubani
Former Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss described the liberation of the Lebanese territories in 2000 due to resistance as "a great achievement for the Lebanese resistance that succeeded in recording a victory i.e. saved by all people". "This victory came in the absence of balance in power between the resistance and the unequivocally preponderant power of "Israel" that is equipped with the latest weapons and supported by the international community and particularly the United States." al-Hoss added.
In an interview with al- Intiqad website on the occasion of the eleventh anniversary of the Resistance and Liberation Holiday, Hoss noted that "despite all the facts, the resistance has reached this great achievement by the spirit of sacrifice that motivates it, " stressing that "the liberation was a great event i.e. not forgotten by all the Lebanese people as well as by " Israel" itself."
"Although "Israel" is an aggressive entity, it had received the liberation lesson of 2000. It no longer dares to attack on Lebanon, and this is in itself a great development. "Hoss pointed out.
"Despite the big difference in the number of Lebanese casualties in return for people killed in "Israel" till the liberation, Lebanon was able to bear and to carry this great price until "Israel" reached a point that it avoids attacking us after the lessons it has received from this small country and its resisting people whose movement led to an "Israeli" political change." Hoss added.
Commenting on the events that the Nakba Day witnessed this year, al- Hoss described what happened as "historical in all senses in spite of the painful victims that felt, " clarifying that "the confrontation with Israel was bold and it crossed all the limits that previously prevented the Palestinians from doing such a glorious work" .
"The Palestinians exceeded all limits and scored a glorious victory with the fall of all these tragic victims." al- Hoss stressed to conclude "it was a memorable day that "Israel" will never forget."
Commenting on the "Israeli" fear and the enemy's media approach of a repetition scene to revive the Right of Return on the borders on the basis of what happened in the liberation days in 2000 from the Lebanese citizens' flow towards their occupied lands, the ex- PM noted that "there are no doubt about "Israel's" real concerns. The Palestinian stood on the fifteenth of May and recorded his heroic stand, and the first to record his stand was "Israel ", which became afraid of the repetition of such events because they are not ready to deal with."
