Pastor’s Peaceful Revolution: Burning Holy Quran?!
Local Editor

The radical US pastor Terry Jones who had burned a copy of the Holy Quran in March 2011, perpetrated the same sacrilegious acts in front of his church in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday.
The Florida pastor along with a pastor friend, burned copies of the Holy Quran and a depiction of the prophet Mohammed after immersing them in Kerosene. The burning, attended by 20 people was blatantly streamed live over the Internet.
Jones, who caused international outrage and violent protests when he filmed the burning of the Islamic holy book last year, set several copies of the Quran on fire in a similar incident. During the ceremony, where Jones became a ‘judge' in a 'trial' of the Quran, Jones claimed that this is a peaceful way of demonstrating against Muslims. , saying that Islam is of the "devil"
On February 20, US troopers burned copies of the Holy Quran and other Islamic texts at the US-run airbase in the northern Afghanistan province of Parwan.
On March 20, 2011, American evangelical preacher Wayne Sapp, Terry Jones' assistant at the time, torched a copy of the Holy Quran, claiming that the holy book had been found "guilty" of crimes and was therefore "executed." The desecration sparked widespread protests in many Muslim countries, including Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, and India after a video of the Quran burning was broadcast online.
