Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei the Leader met thousands of teachers from across the country at a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday held to commemorate Iran's National Teachers' Day, which fell on May 1 this year.
Imam Khameni praised the lofty status of teachers in society and highlighted their significant role in educating the generations to come. The Imam advised people from all walks of life, teachers and ministry of education to truly identify and appreciate the status of teachers who carry out a grave responsibility of education in the society. Imam Khamenei also called for compilation of Comprehensive Strategy for Education and a timetable to implement it in due time.
He further added that Ministry of education is expected to help establish a model Islamic society by bringing up the youth in line with advanced educational criteria.
Ayatollah Khamenei required the government and senior officials to give preferences to meet the needs of the Ministry of Education and draw up roadmap to enhance level of education to keep up with the modern needs of the society to science and technology.

As for the upcoming general elections, His Eminence said that the Iranian nation will demonstrate their vigilance on Friday when the run-off parliamentary election will be held.
Imam Khamenei stressed "On Friday, the Iranian nation will once again show their exemplary vigilance, insight, and sense of timing through their presence on the scene."
" The Iranian nation is on the scene as they fully know their enemies. They are sagacious and will never let enemies achieve their hypocritical goals," he reiterated.
