Bahraini regime forces have once again used tear gas against anti-regime demonstrators in the capital, Manama, as police attacked peaceful protesters on Saturday.
According to witnesses, a number of protesters were injured when regime forces attacked the demonstrators in several other towns in Bahrain on Saturday.
Over the past few days, anti-regime demonstrators have not only been continuing their call for the down-fall of the al-Khalifa regime, but also have demanded the release of prominent human rights activist Nabeel Rajab, who was re-arrested on June 6 on suspicion of posting messages on Twitter that Manama considers critical of the al-Khalifa regime.
Rajab, who is the president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, was granted bail on May 28, several days before being re-arrested.
Also, an 80-year-old Bahraini woman has died due to inhalation of tear gas fired by the paramilitary forces of the al-Khalifa minority regime, said Press TV.
The elderly woman is the latest victim of tear gas fired by regime forces against peaceful demonstrations in the country over the past weeks.
