Union Party: Protecting Resistance Arms Is A Defense Strategy Pillar
Local Editor

The Union Party, headed by former Lebanese Minister Abdel Rahim Murad stressed the importance of national dialogue in resolving the daily worries of division among the Lebanese people.

In a statement issued following its monthly meeting, the party said "despite our reservations on establishing a dialogue table, protecting the Resistance arms is one of the pillars of the Defense Strategy, which aims at protecting the country and the citizen."

The party also rejected comparing the Resistance arms to the arms of strife which was employed by the West in order to bargain on the former.
"The sacred formula of the people-army-resistance, is one of the most important factors that led to two major victories in Lebanon. It also constitutes a true deterrence force in face of the Zionist aggressions on Lebanon's sovereignty."
On another note, the party slammed the violent incident that took place against the Lebanese TV channel al-Jadeed (New TV) on Monday.

Unknown masked men on Monday attacked al-Jadeed television's headquarters in the Beirut neighborhood of Wata el-Msaytbeh, burning tires at the entrance of the building.

Security forces, in collaboration with the youth in the area and Al-Jadeed security guards, managed to arrest one of the perpetrators involved in the attack, and identified him as W. Alaeddine.
It further said in its statement that such attempts aim at sowing strife and harming Lebanon and its civil peace.
