“Israeli” settlers killed in Hizbullah rocket attack
Source: AP, 12-7-2006
JERUSALEM (AL-QUDS) - As "Israeli" warplanes pounded Beirut`s civilian airport, Lebanese Hizbullah guerrillas fired volleys of rockets at northern "Israel" Thursday, killing one "Israeli" settler and wounding five.
"Israel's" army and medics say an "Israeli" settler was killed in a northern border town when struck by a rocket.
Across "Israeli" border towns, thousands of settlers spent the night in underground shelters. Patients at a hospital were moved to secure rooms.
The "Israeli" airstrikes on the Beirut airport have been confirmed by witnesses and "Israeli" Army Radio.
All scheduled flights were diverted to Cyprus. Beirut`s airport is located in southern Beirut suburbs.
A second day of military operations in southern Lebanon follows Hizbullah`s bold cross-border raid that captured two "Israeli" soldiers. The fighting has killed eight "Israeli" soldiers and more than three Lebanese civilians.
