"Muslims should make breakthrough in the scientific and technological realms," said grand Shia cleric, Ayatollah Hussein Nouri Hamedani.
"The enemies of Islam try to lag Muslims behind in this realm," said the Islamic scholar stating that they (western countries) want Muslims to depend on them.
The senior cleric pointed to the effect of religious believes in scientific realms and said, "The role of religious belief in science leads to human’s glory."
Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani underscored that the importance of religion in science should not be fallen on deaf ears.
In other part of his speech, Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani pointed to the necessity of unity among Muslims and said, "the enemies of Islam tried so hard to damage Muslims by using the standing dispersion among them."
"Regarding the negative consequences of dispersion and conflict in the society, it is the duty of each Muslim to refrain from spotlighting the minor differences existing among Islamic denominations," the Islamic scholar mentioned.
"Islam phobia and Shia phobia are two strategies used by the arrogant world to separate Muslims from each other," said grand Ayatollah.
He also mentioned that Iran does not need nuclear weapons and underlined," there are some other countries which are after gaining power through developing nuclear weapons but Iran is not definitely among those countries."
"Western countries should know that the late founder of Islamic revolution of Iran, Imam Khomeini (RA) defeated the enemies without using nuclear weapons," said the Islamic scholar.
