Mayor of the East German city Jena, Albrecht Schroeter, reiterated his call to boycott "Israeli" goods, after a Zionist campaign was launched against him, accusing him of being anti-Semitic.
The campaign against Schroeter started after he signed a petition of the peace organization "Pax Christi’s" campaign dubbed "Occupation tastes bitter", urging the boycott of "Israeli" goods, especially those produced in the occupied West Bank.
Schroeter asserted that he remains firm on his stance despite the German Zionist lobby’s campaign against him.
"Pax Christi’s" two-page petition read that ""Israel" settlements on occupied territory violate Article 49 of the Geneva Convention. Whoever contributes to the profitability of these settlements contributes to the violation of human rights."
